Hi, I’m Gem!

I am a personal assistant based online and across Scotland - ready to help you with anything and everything small biz or freelancer related: from social media and marketing to administrative tasks and copy editing. I’m always up for a good chat and brainstorm, and love supporting people’s ideas to flourish - no matter how undeveloped, quirky or out there.

I have a proven track record of supporting freelancers and organisations, particularly arts-related support. As an autistic woman, I particularly love working with other neurodivergent artists and freelancers. I find our brains mesh well together, giving me the tools I need to support you.

I want to make people feel like someone has their back. Being a freelancer can be lonely, and I’m here to make it feel like you have a teammate or cheerleader - every step of the way.

When not working, I am usually cosied up in my rural cottage that I share with my wife Robyn, our collie x golden retriever Pepper, and our little black cat Peanut. I’m usually curled up with a book and a hot chocolate, or out performing with my local amateur theatre.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A bit of everything and anything! Admin support, business brainstorming, events support (both remotely & in-person), social media setup and management, website updating, research… even life admin & remote household management!

  • Both! I am based in Angus, Scotland and will happily travel across Scotland to meet new clients - I love connecting with new people. I am also happy to work completely remotely if that works best for your needs!

  • I love working with a range of people as it makes my work interesting and varied.

However, I specialise in working with women, LGBTQ+ people, and neurodivergent people - providing inclusive support throughout.

I do not work with brands that support homophobia, racism, sexism or ableism.

  • Head to my contact page and fill in my Disovery Call booking form, and I’ll be in touch with some times & dates for your free Discovery Call.

Normally the first meeting is online, although we can absolutely meet in person. Over the course of the meeting, we will chat more about your needs and how I can help to meet them. We will also talk about my terms (contracts, packages, etc).

When you’re happy to book, I will email you a contract to sign - and the work begins!

  • I would absolutely love to lower my rates to work on a sliding scale for people who may need support but cannot afford it. However, as a relatively new business this just isn’t possible at the moment.
